Up-date on the Building Improvements

Dear Members

We are pleased to report that the repairs to the roof are nearly complete and the two leaks have been rectified.

We are in the process of getting the decorators back to finish the work on the top floor once the wall is dry, and the builder back to level the floor on the first floor landing.  We will then be ready to replace the carpet for the hall, stairs and landings.

We are now turning our attention to the main bridge room with a view to redecoration, renewing the curtains and tablecloths and cleaning the carpet. We would also like to modernise the lighting.

One thing we are considering is what to do about the wooden panelling. Our current view is that we should retain the panelling and either re-varnish (keeping it brown) or paint the wood in a light pastel colour (grey or light blue for example).

The building working party Ailie, Charles and myself would like to hear members’ views before deciding how to proceed.
